Are all pints of the white stuff the same? Well, we don’t think so.
Everything Yeo Valley Organic makes is 100% organic certified. This means our milk, including the farm and production process, is 100% organic – meeting the rigorous criteria of the Soil Association and certified in law.
It means your white pint is one you can trust.
Good Animal Welfare
Did you know the Soil Association’s welfare standards are the highest of any farming system in the UK?
Animal welfare is at the heart of organic farming and why we’re so passionate about being organic.
Organic cows are truly free-range; they spend as much time outdoors as possible. They have huge spaces to graze on grass and clover and acres of lush green fields to call home. Enjoying the fresh air, mingling with friends, munching on grass and sleeping under the stars – talk about being at one with nature! We believe this affects the quality of milk that the cow produces. With great animal welfare, we’re able to deliver quality organic milk.
No Harmful Ingredients and Chemicals
Being organic means the exclusion of harmful ingredients and chemicals. While a cow’s diet is important, it’s also important to stop the use of harmful ingredients and chemicals such as synthetic fertilisers, synthetic pesticides or herbicides, GMOs, additives, growth hormones, preservatives and antibiotics.
Our diets
Organic animals must be fed a natural and organic diet. For our ladies (our lovely cows), this means a grass-rich diet, with no genetically-modified feed. For us humans, organic milk is a great source of essential nutrients such as calcium, protein, vitamin B12, vitamin B2, phosphorous, iodine and potassium. All these nutrients, naturally present in milk, make milk a worthwhile part of our diet as they contribute to the normal function of the body in everyday life. Read more about the benefits of milk.
Supports British Wildlife
The last 50 years have been devastating for British wildlife with now more than 10% of our species facing extinction (1). By consciously managing habitats, organic farms provide safe havens, with research showing they are 50% more abundant in wildlife than non-organic farms. Good news for a whole host of wonderful creatures: from bees and beetles, to hedgehogs and skylarks.
It’s bigger than us
Organic farming has potential to help reduce climate change by “fixing” more carbon into our soil. In fact, if all UK farmland converted to organic, it would achieve the same positive impact as taking 1 million cars off the road (2).
Organic farming creates countryside jobs, helping to keep the UK’s rural communities alive and kicking. Supporting British organic farmers since 1994 is something we’re really proud of. We believe they make our landscape the beautiful and vibrant place it is today.
So, why choose organic milk?
Given all its wholesome benefits, we think it’s safe to say organic milk is not just your average white stuff. So, when it comes to choosing the milk your family splash on their granola, stir into their afternoon brew or glug by the glass… always choose organic. It means you can be confident that your pint is one you can trust which supports British organic family farms.
Why not give it a try? Check and see where it’s stocked – our delicious range of organic milk.
