Packaging and Recycling

We are working to ‘close the loop’ on our packaging. We are members of The UK Plastics Pact and have made good progress on our journey to making sure all of our plastic packaging is fully recyclable and made from recycled plastic.

We've been Tickled Pink!

We've been Tickled Pink!

Since 1996, Asda Tickled Pink has raised an incredible £82 million to get the nation checking their boobs, pecs, or chests. And together, we’re putting breast cancer awareness on everyone’s list.

To show our support, we donated 10% of the sales from our special edition Tickled Pink Natural Yogurt 450g back in Autumn 2024 ahead of Breast Cancer Awareness Month last October.

Small changes that make a big impact. Can you spot the difference?

Small changes that make a big impact. Can you spot the difference?

Last summer, we changed the blue and green lids on our milk bottles to ones that are a little less colourful. Our milk bottle lids are 100% recyclable and made of at least 30% recycled material. But even better than that, by removing the coloured dye, when these new clear lids are recycled they can be reused for food-grade packaging. Let’s raise a brew to closing the recycling loop!

They say size doesn't always matter!

They say size doesn't always matter!

We aim to keep organic dairy as accessible as possible and work hard to deliver quality, tasty products which safeguards our community of organic dairy farmers across the country.

While prices of all our products are set by retailers, we’ve made the tough call to reduce the pack size of both block butter and spreadable butter. Our salted and unsalted block butters will change from 250g to 200g blocks, and our spreadable butter will change from 500g to 400g tubs.

You might also have noticed we’ve updated the name ‘buttery spreadable’ to just plain ‘spreadable’. Rest assured, our spreadable is still the same rich and creamy 50% organic unsalted butter we all know and love, and our block butter remains the same too.

We've taken the lids off our yogurts

We've taken the lids off our yogurts

By removing ‘single use plastic’ such as the clip lid, we will remove a 145 tonnes of plastic a year – that’s the equivalent of 188 Friesian cows, 24 African elephants or 17 tractors.

After successful trials in 2021, we began ditching the plastic lids from our yogurts. If you’d like to find out the best ways to store your yogurt at home, read our storage tips.

Please note, because of the size of the pots, our Super Thick and 950g tubs will keep their plastic tops.

You may be wondering whether this change will affect the freshness of our delicious yogurt, which is why we’ve put together this handy guide. Click the link below to see our top storage tips to get the most from your pot!

RUBBISH DILEMMAS BUSTED

Trying to work out what can go in the recycling bin, what needs to go to landfill (gulp), and what in the world to do with compostable/biodegradable packaging is a rubbish dilemma we all face daily.

Many of our yogurt pots are made from 100% recycled plastic

Yes that’s right, they are made from 100% recycled plastic. We were first in the yogurt world back in 2020!

You might have noticed that these pots seem a little wobbly but that’s because the plastic content is lower than our standard pots. Being made from 100% recycled plastic isn’t easy but it is the right thing to do.

And have you tried our new Super Thick? It’s our thickest, creamiest yogurt yet!

Pouches & things that can't be recycled at home

Yeo Valley Organic yogurt pouch recycling

Pouches & things that can't be recycled at home

Sadly, not everything can be recycled at home just yet. But don’t worry, because we’ve teamed up with recycling experts at Enval who can do it for you. Things you can send them: Little Yeos pouches, the film lids of our yogurt pots, and our small yogurt sachets from recipe boxes.

Here’s what to do:

1. Fill your details in the form below and we’ll send you a recycling bag in a few weeks when they come into stock.

2. Make sure the pouches/packs are empty and clean.

3. Pop the packs and green plastic lids into the bag – due to the size and weight limits of the bag, it’s a max. limit of 13 pouches per bag. If you’re sending yogurt film lids, we’d estimate a maximum of 60 films per bag.

4. Send to Enval (for free!) via Royal Mail.

This is currently only available for the UK.
