
Basic Biscuits for Icing
Ingredients
Method
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light, creamy and fully combined. Slowly mix in the egg yolk.
- Stir in the flour and vanilla seeds/essence.
- Once the mixture is combined, make it into a ball and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Once the biscuit mixture is firm, put the mixture onto a sheet of cling film or parchment paper. Cover with another sheet of cling film or parchment and roll out between the two sheets to about 1cm thick.
- Remove the top sheet and cut the biscuit mixture into the desired shapes.
- Place on a greaseproof tray and bake at 170C for 13 mins, or until lightly golden brown.
- Cook and decorate to your hearts content.
