Crab mac and cheese bites
Ride the wave of deliciousness with these Crab Mac and Cheese Bites! The creamy comfort of mac and cheese gets a seafood twist. Treat yourself and indulge in these baby bites of cheesy crabby perfection!
Ingredients
The Mac and cheese
- 20g Yeo Valley Organic Salted Butter
- 20g Plain flour
- 250ml Yeo Valley Organic Whole Milk
- 1 tsp English Mustard
- Pinch of Cayenne pepper
- 100g Yeo Valley Organic Mature Cheddar (grated)
- 100g Macaroni
The Crab topping
- 100g Crab White and Brown
- 50g Yeo Valley Crème Fraiche
- ½ Lemon (juice)
- 1 tbsp Chives (chopped)
- Salt and pepper
- 50g Breadcrumbs (toasted)
Method
- Grease a mini muffin tin and heat the oven to 180C.
- Make cheese sauce by melting the butter and the flour in a saucepan. Gradually add the milk, whisking in between additions until the sauce is smooth. Add the mustard and cayenne pepper and stir through the grated cheese until it has melted.
- Cook the pasta according to the packet instructions and stir it through the cheese sauce.
- Add the mac and cheese to the muffin tin and bake in the oven for 20-25 mins, until the edges are crispy.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine crab with the crème fraiche and lemon juice and season it with salt and pepper.
- Once the mac and cheese is cooked remove the mini bites from the muffin tin, top with crab mix, toasted breadcrumbs and chopped chives.
