
Cheese Scones

Ingredients
500g self-raising flour
120g grated Cheddar cheese
125g unsalted butter
2 tsp baking powder
250ml milk
100ml natural yogurt
1 egg
50g chopped parsley
Pinch of salt
Method
- Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the sifted flour and baking powder.
- Rub the butter into the flour.
- Add the grated cheddar and the salt.
- Add the milk, yogurt and chopped parsley.
- Mix gently to bring together. Turn out onto floured surface and roll out to 1 inch thick.
- Cut with a 60mm cutter that has been dipped in flour.
- Place onto your baking tray and brush with the beaten egg. Bake at 190C for 8-10 mins until lightly browned and sound hollow at the bottom.
