Cheese Scones

It is a well-known fact that we love anything cheesy, from puns to pizza. These scones take our love of cheese to the next level…

500g self-raising flour

120g grated cheddar

125g unsalted butter

2 tsp baking powder

400ml milk

100g yeo valley natural yogurt

1 egg

50g chopped parsley

Pinch of salt


  1. Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the sifted flour and baking powder.
  2. Rub the butter into the flour.
  3. Add the grated cheddar and the salt.
  4. Add the milk, yogurt and chopped parsley.
  5. Mix gently to bring together. Turn out onto floured surface and roll out to 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut with a 60mm cutter that has been dipped in flour.
  7. Place onto your baking tray and brush with the beaten egg. Bake at 190C for 8-10 mins until lightly browned and sound hollow at the bottom.
