Hot Chocolate

We love curling up under a blanket with a big cup of this warming hot chocolate and it’s just the ticket after a long walk with the family!

Ingredients

450ml whole milk

70g dark chocolate, finely chopped

30g milk chocolate, finely chopped

75ml double cream

1 cinnamon stick

1 vanilla pod, split and seeds scraped out

Method

  1. Warm 150ml milk in a pan over a medium heat and stir in the finely chopped chocolate, vanilla pod and seeds. Continue to stir until the chocolate has melted into the milk, then whisk in the remaining milk and the cream.
  2. Add in the cinnamon stick and continue to heat until the mixture is hot, but not boiling.
  3. Remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla pods. Taste and adjust if necessary.

Why not personalise this recipe even further with a few marshmallows, whipped cream or even a dash of brandy?
