Lynne Joyner is our resident fitness expert and has been working with Yeo Valley for over 20 years in various capacities, managing the gym facilities that are at our HQ in Blagdon and running YeoFit for the last 5 years. She’s almost part of the furniture at Yeo! She’s been updating us with what she’s been getting up to whilst she’s not been able to put us though our paces in person…

“It’s certainly much easier to get an early start in the summer than during the dark winter mornings, so I’m really making the most of that at the moment! Normally I’d be starting the day with a 7am spin class at YeoFit but as the gym has been closed recently, I’ve exchanged this for a run before breakfast. I miss my classes but it’s definitely a much more relaxed way to start the day!
I’ve been teaching classes online through lockdown but I’m really looking forward to getting back in the Yeo Valley gym when we’re allowed to open again. It’s a great facility to have at a workplace so it’s always nice to see everybody taking advantage of it.
After my morning run, it’s time for breakfast and a coffee! I like to have protein with every meal to balance my blood sugar, so I often have Yeo Valley natural with some granola on top. Recently I’ve started having Yeo Valley Super Thick Kerned, it’s got a high-level of protein but is low in sugars, so it goes a long way in helping me to get my days requirements.

I’m focussing on weight training at the moment so if I need a protein boost after I work out, I’ll grab a bowl of Super Thick and mix it with a handful of seeds and a spoon of local honey. I swear by eating local honey, I like to support my local bee-keepers but it also helps with my hay fever symptoms!
I do like to include yogurt and milk in my diet as the calcium will help me to guard against osteoporosis. If it gets to the evening and I haven’t had any throughout the day, I’ll stir yogurt into my curry or spoon it on top of a chilli. The texture of Super Thick Kerned makes it a really creamy addition to my cooking that I just love!”

You are an inspiration! Thanks for your ideas🙂
Love the kerned yoghurt 5% fat. Piled with berries in the morning, addition of granola on top. Yum Always look forward to it 😀
We love your Greek style and the fruity ones. We were tempted to try extra thick but were put off by the price. Why is it so expensive?
My daughter and myself have just tried the kerned yoghurt and like it very much. We hope it will be available at my local Asda soon.
Unfortunately I still can’t buy Yeo butter or cheese at my store but I have natural yoghurt with fruit to kick start my day. It works!
I have yeo yogurt everyday with granola and honey for breakfast, just delicious. I love all the flavours but my favourite at the moment is peach and apricot, i could just eat the whole pot in one go ! I found Lynnes Pilates videos yesterday and did one of her workouts. Brilliant. Thanks Lynne for your videos. I wished I lived nearby I would definitely be a member of your gym.
Every other day I have have yeogart with my weetabix a small amount of milk and a large spoonful of stewed fruit from my allotment
Very helpful.
I, too, am loving the new super thick kerned yogurt. Personally, I like the 5% fat variety. I add my own home-grown fruit compote. It’s a great way to start the day.
Inspiring for a healthy lifestyle , diet and exercise. A L.
