Monday 6th March 2023
Introducing Charlie Follett, a modern pentathlon athlete that has big plans. Originally from North Somerset, Charlie will be aiming for the Paris Olympics in 2024 and Yeo Valley Organic will be supporting her journey towards securing a medal.

The modern pentathlon structure has changed over the years, but at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the event consisted of fencing, swimming and equestrian, which then determined each athlete’s starting time in the final event which is called a laser-run; athletes run 3000 meters, stopping four times to shoot at targets with a laser pistol. This is not an event for the faint-hearted!
It’s a long road for the year ahead…
2023 will be an important year for Charlie. She has the European Championships, where she will be looking to retain her title. It will also provide automatic Olympic qualifying places for the top 6 athletes. Further Olympic qualification spots will also be up for grabs at the World Championships, which are being held on home turf at the University of Bath in August. A home advantage is something that Charlie and the other British squad members will be looking to utilise!
Charlie Follett said “I’m really delighted that Yeo Valley Organic will be supporting me on my journey this year to hopefully qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Being from North Somerset, I’m really grateful that a local business has made the decision to work with me, as a huge part of my programme is following a healthy, nutritious diet from local produce.”

Yeo Valley Organic’s support will help Charlie towards fulfilling her goal of reaching the top with the money contributing towards equipment and kit upgrades. This will relieve pressure to allow her to concentrate on her fitness and well-being in the lead-up to qualifying events.
All the best Charlie, we’ll be cheering you through the finish line!
Well done for the support and Go Charlie!
